This is the day that the LORD hath made
We will be glad and rejoice in it, and rock the house!
Hand in hand will I walk, with the partner of my choosing
Whom G-d also hath made, like as like in His image
The LORD is on my side; I will not fear:
How can petty man dismay me?
We will smoke in doorways and clubs
Sheltered from His rain, imbibing His sweet leaves
Of carcinogenic joy, ignoring every sign
Hung by the unrighteous
The LORD hath chastened me sore:
But He hath not given me over unto death.
Not yet, anyways…
It is better to trust in the LORD
than to put confidence in princes.
Huddled there, scorning Caesar’s minions
Armed counter to statute, smuggling casks
Of the untaxed homemade wine
Bequeathed by any decent Christ
Outriding the law, outlasting promulgations
Of royal corruption, sycophancy, entropy
O give thanks unto the LORD; for He is good:
For his mercy endureth for ever.
As for Caesar, let him hide in his palaces
Beholden to the counting houses
The eye of the needle will strip away gold,
man sacks, temporal contentments forthwith
It is better to trust in the LORD
Than to put confidence in man
For men do lie; we are betrayers, once betrayed
The LORD is on my side;
I will not fear:
what can man do unto me?
